The first week of EDIS 5070, we were tasked with creating a introductory video targeted at our future classroom. I created mine using OBS, which is an open source video software used by many video creators, and twitch streamers.

Microbit

Series: Designing Tech-Enhanced Instruction

This week we talked about unplugged CS activities and microbits. I loved working with the microbits (once I got them working with my computer), and designed a lesson and tutorial for a sample survey project. I look forward to creating more projects using the microbit in the future!

GIS

Series: Designing Tech-Enhanced Instruction

This week was on GIS/mapping technologies. I had been interested in experimenting with GIS in R, so I took my chance and created a lesson using r5r. While this took a lot longer than expected, I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

This week in EDIS 5070, we learned about different technology alternatives for formative assessment. I was originally overwhelmed by nearpod, but I got the hang of it, and incorporated it into one of the lessons I taught!
